About the role
yfood is on a mission to help the world to eat better, particularly when you don't have the time or chance for a proper meal. We're seeking an experienced FMCG sales expert to expand our smart food footprint globally. The role is strategic in terms of developing our expansion strategy and go-to market tools, but also hands-on in terms of relationship management with existing distributors and retailers.
Responsibilities include developing a flexible Route-to-Market strategy, including the right channel and customer initiatives at each stage of a country’s development, creating Go-to-Market tools from Sales Fundamentals to Category Management best practices, and establishing a consistent approach with local teams across different geographies, while respecting the need for local adaptation.
Route-to-Market:
- Ensure right approach between inhouse, 3rd party and distributor partners, optimizing the value chain from production to shelf.
- Define channel and customer strategy for maximum initial impact (what is in/out of scope).
- Select, onboard, evaluate and manage external partners to ensure execution excellence, including compliance and best practice sharing.
Go-to-Market:
- Set Pricing, Assortment, Promotion and Trade Spend strategy in collaboration with local teams and global departments.
- Create a Sales Fundamentals toolkit and ensure strong execution to accelerate international roll-out speed and impact.
- Ensure calendar alignment with consumer marketing activities to maximize shopper awareness touchpoints and generate trial.
Key Account Management & Retail Sales Capabilities:
- Develop an international Retail Sales organization with the right capabilities to win in the long-term (key account management, sales fundamentals, data analytics/insights, category management understanding).
- Liaise with retail accounts on (senior) buyer and category manager levels, supporting the local retail teams (internal and external)
- Ensure continual development of tools, materials, knowledge that allow local Sales teams to deliver on the company’s mission (also leveraging learnings from home market Germany).
